It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Māmā, Nan, Nanny Granz whose heartbeat for the final time surrounded by whānau on Monday evening, 10th August 2026.
Born on 20th August 1948 in Patea to Rangi Ropata and Kuramahaurangi (nee Ratahi) Kahukaka.
She was the devoted wife of the late David Henry (Henare) and the loving māmā of Deanne and Wayne, David and Estelle, Sheryl and Rolland, and Sara.
She was a cherished Nan to her many mokopuna: Levi, Sam, Amelia, Jayde, Savannah, Yasmin, Zayviyn, Ruby, Tai, Jerome*, Anaru, Massey, Mana, Mia, Myles, Mace, and Taupo.
A proud Nanny Granny to her moko tuarua: Samaia, Waimirirangi, Filipo, Tei, Kaharau, Harlem, Taimana, RJ, Imani Jayde, Krome, Remy, Te Arahi, Kawiti, Taraia, Aorere, Torene, Elias, Alani, Maikoa, Zebastian, Jerome, Anaru, Raiona, Jaezachan, Dannie-Jaye, Harley, Kahurangi, and Rahiri.
Māma will be taken on to Ngā Hau e Whā Marae, Conon St, Invercargill on Wednesday afternoon. A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held om Friday, 14th August at 11:00am, the service will conclude with the burial at the Eastern Cemetery at 12:30pm.
